Elastic Parameters: Dynamic Measurement and Calculation (German Study)

Abstract

Elastic and shear moduli can be calculated from the natural vibrations of bar-shaped specimens. An overview of the theoretical foundations for the calculation is provided. Measurements were made with the Grindo-Sonic device and with a system developed at the FMPA and compared. Both devices proved to be very efficient, although their characteristics are quite different.
